I first learned of this on a private stock photography forum. And through other sources, I’ve discovered the photographer in question is a web acquaintance of mine and that he used the services of imagerights.com to deal with the infringement.
So, if you think that you won’t get caught when infringing on someone’s copyrighted imagery, think again. Photographers, and I’m one of them, frequently scan the web using Google Search by Image to catch infringers. Just don’t do it. Given the availability of very inexpensive microstock images these days, there’s really no reason to copy a photo off the web.
